A Resource In Serving Equality
ARISE is a community based program that works with colonia families to strengthen their communities. Located in four colonias in South Texas, each ARISE center responds to the specific needs of the community. ARISE'S mission is to aid communities by helping residents identify life goals and providing resources to help them reach those goals on their own.
Hazard Reduction & Recovery Center, Texas A&M University
The Hazard Reduction and Recovery Center was established at Texas A&M University in 1988. HRRC researchers focus on hazard analysis, emergency preparedness and response, disaster recovery, and hazard mitigation. Researchers study the full range of natural disasters and technological hazards.

Our mission is to support low income Texans' efforts to achieve the American dream of a decent, affordable home in a quality neighborhood. We believe that Texas' critical low income housing and community development needs can best be solved through a public-private partnership led by the initiative of low income Texans and supported by government, the private sector and the general public.
